Smart STB is an android app which can be installed on Samsung and LG smart tv`s. This app enables you to have IPTV service on a portal just like MAG with all features that can be expected from MAG and Stalker Portal. Here are some hacks to help you get the most out of your streaming set-top box. As always, be careful about engaging in potentially warranty-voiding behavior with your own gear--PCWorld isn't.
I am new to IPTV. Id like to use with my xbox itself as i have almost everything i do in there already.
Even my cable box! Trying to get most comfy experience for us. Also using the smart tv apps is an option.

What would be the best way? How can i get the closest to a normal box experience (EPG, using my tv remote, etc) I have tested OTTPlayer on my samsung tv, and its ok. I like it because i can use with my tv remote and its a normal tv experience. On the xbox ive tried 2 or 3 apps, none of them have EPG nor i can switch channels with my tv remote:(. Its not a bad experience though.
I am used very used to controlling everything with the xbox, its very comfortable cause i dont even to have my controller on. My samsung tv remote controls the xbox very well. The problem with xbox iptv apps is that i can control them with the remote but i cant switch the channels with the up/down ch buttons. Right now im leaning towards for Best Player & TV(paid) or MyIPTVPlayer (free). Im ok with both, but thinking of the paid one, even though both dont allow to use the ch up/down button they let me change channels fairly easy. But leaning towards Best Players because it switches very quickly and smoothly, and also it the previous used channel comes up whenever i open the app.
The free one, isnt as smooth and doesnt bring up the last channel and have to go back to switch to favorite channels (paid one, lets you do it on screen). Please dont hate me lol. Im new and just looking the best possible way to do this:D. Maybe you can watch smartp iptv throught HDMI input? I will try it myself tonight but i think you still have to use the tv remote control I tryed in the past kodi app installed on amazon fire tv watching through xbox one HDMI input Wasnt a great experience as i still had to use the fire tv remote control I use smart iptv on my tv and have also smart iptv on amazon fire tv Channel switching is much faster on fire tv but picture quality is much better on the tv,s smart iptv app much brighter and higher contrast On fire tv the picture is a bit washed out.
Keep us posted if you come up with a great iptv method. As far as we have seen, there are just too many limitations with smart tv's and consoles, unless you're using some of the official paid (legit) services.
Our general recommendation for IPTV after testing many devices and configurations is to avoid any 'mainstream' devices for iptv. This includes consoles, appletv, amazon devices, nvidia shield, and many more. All these devices are similar and provide great streaming experiences, just not for true iptv. They all require jailbreaking, sideloading, emulation, or some other hack job method of obtaining IPTV. And even when you DO get iptv up and running on it, you may be missing features such as timeshifting, vod, epg and stability limitations.
Before this turns into a 'well what devices are good' thing, check out some of the video reviews I've done for various boxes in the sticky at. Sure, I may be biased, but I just tried setting up 2 firetv devices for a friend this afternoon, and this is what I have to think about them. I've just been playing around with so many devices over the years and I know what works well and doesn't work. If you're a tech nerd like some of us though, you might be able to get a solution that works good for you outside of my recommendations. But even if you do, you're server selection may be limited because often some software is not supported by the servers. All great ideas from you But what if the stream keeps buffeing during a live match Does mag comes to help us or what?
I havent used myself a mag or dreamlink or whatever box If the source of the stream is stable the streaming experience is great whatever you use People didnt get to watch a fucking match properly this weekend and you talking about timeshift epg o whatever I am not to tech but you do realise all these iptv app are done by individuals not like the old days of pirate cards with dish and proper boxes manufactured for that purpose by big companies Outside of mag wich i think the software is done by the same people tell me another box has iptv app on their factory made menu? Sorry my english is not great but hopefully you will understand my point.
